The Thing Studio has designed the chokers using an ancient technique, called chaquiras, tracing back the Pre-hispanic Mexico.
The craftswoman is Maria, an artisan from a small town close to Mexico City. We met her in the neighborhood of Coyoacan, where she sells her work.
In honor of the Mexican artisans, 12% of the total price will go to the Centro Comunitario of Santa Fe Foundation, Mexico City, for children’s education.
